The AREA press brake uses technology derived from synchronized press brakes, adapted to the specific needs of architectural sheet metal and roofing work. It features a rugged welded two-column frame, hydraulic crowning and an integrated pneumatic hemming die. AREA comes in three working lengths, 21.3, 27.9 and 34.4 ft (6.5, 8.5 and 10.5 m), and four tonnages: 88, 110, 143 and 176 US tons (80, 100, 130 and 160 t).

What lengths and tonnages does AREA come in?
AREA comes in three working lengths, 21.3, 27.9 and 34.4 ft (6.5, 8.5 and 10.5 m), and four tonnages: 88, 110, 143 and 176 US tons (80, 100, 130 and 160 t). Every model has a 29.5" (750 mm) throat depth as standard.
What's the difference between AREA and VELA?
AREA is an architectural sheet metal press brake with a two-column frame, designed for bending sheet metal parts and equipped with an integrated pneumatic hemming die. VELA is a three-column synchronized hydraulic roll-press brake, with a height-adjustable upper roll and two laterally adjustable lower rolls, built to produce rolled sheet metal parts.
Why does a 29.5" throat depth make a difference?
A deeper throat gives you more room inside the press brake, so you can process parts with larger developed widths and complex geometries. AREA has a 29.5" (750 mm) throat as standard on every model, which suits the deep, wide parts typical of architectural sheet metal.
How is AREA different from a press brake for structural fabrication?
AREA is built specifically for architectural sheet metal, with a 29.5" (750 mm) throat depth as standard, bending lengths up to 34.4 ft (10.5 m), hydraulic crowning and an integrated pneumatic hemming die, so long, thin parts can be bent and hemmed on one machine.
What is the integrated hemming die?
The integrated hemming die lets you hem directly on the AREA press brake, with no separate equipment. The PN 30 pneumatic hemming die comes standard and provides a 1.18" (30 mm) counter-bend; the PN 15 integrated pneumatic hemming device, with a 0.59" (15 mm) counter-bend, is available as an option.
